Exhibition GO Station Improvement

We're Transforming Your Station!

Shovels are officially in the ground for the Ontario Line at Exhibition GO Station. This station will be a vital transit hub for Ontario Line, GO and TTC customers and is sure to be one of the most popular Ontario Line stations with 12,100 customers passing through during the busiest travel hour by 2041.

What's Changing

Toronto Hydro infrastructure installation on Atlantic Avenue

  • The foot of Atlantic Avenue will be closed to vehicles for approximately one month.
  • Full pedestrian access to the existing GO Station will be maintained on the east sidewalk of Atlantic Avenue.

Full construction notice, including a directional map can be found here.

The north platform (platform 1)

The new platform is available for you to use. This will mean some changes to how you board the train. Here is what you need to know:

  • Access at the station will remain through Atlantic Avenue and the existing pedestrian tunnel. The following pedestrian changes will occur:
    • The access path from Atlantic Avenue will also provide access to the new platform 1.
    • The accessible ramp for boarding will move further east on the platform. (See map)
  • When travelling from the south side of the station, please follow directional signage to access the new platform.
  • There will be no changes to how you access the south side of the Station, elevators or TTC.

You will also have the following benefits available:

  • Newly built and heated platform shelters, and benches on the platform.
  • An improved announcement system.
  • Improved lighting at the station.
  • Additional fare payment devices on the platform. If arriving from Atlantic Avenue, please use the devices within the tunnel entrance prior to continuing onto platform 1.

Through the GO Expansion program, we are building a better service with faster trains, more stations, increased capacity and reduced travel time.

How You'll Benefit

GO Expansion will increase the frequency and number of GO trains across the rail network, reduce congestion and connect a growing region with fast, reliable transit options to get you where you need to go. We’re preparing your station for GO Expansion by making it easier to access your station.

Here’s what we have planned for you, once preliminary work is complete:

  • Temporary entrance building on the north side of the station including tunnel connection as well as an elevator and stairs to train platforms
  • Permanent entrance and exit building at Atlantic Avenue
  • Extended north and south platforms
  • A temporary pedestrian bridge between the north and south sides of the station
  • An upgraded elevator at the south side of the station
